Wow! Claims for State-Owned Goods Insurance Transparent

The Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN) of the Ministry of Finance has submitted insurance claims for state assets valued at IDR 83.99 trillion between 2020 and 2022. This is because Indonesia was affected by several natural catastrophes during that time.

The value of the insurance claim was submitted for BMN, according to Director General of State Assets Rionald Silaban, in a number of disaster-prone areas, from the Mamuju earthquake last year to the floods in Kupang in 2021, the floods in Jakarta in 2020, to the floods and landslides in Sorong in 2022.

Rionald stated, "The value of insurance claims from 2020 to 2022 is IDR 83.99 billion," on Tuesday (28/3/2023), during a working session with Commission XI DPR.

He explained that the occurrence of risks that were insured under the policy in the form of different catastrophes like earthquakes, floods, landslides, and strong winds served as the foundation for this claim. This will prevent the APBN from being immediately drained during disaster-related BMN repairs.

This is being done, he explained, "in the context of reducing the risk of losses resulting from disasters so that it can be maximized for the rebuilding of BMN by minimizing BMN use."

Rionald also provided a summary of the amounts paid by the government for BMN's insurance from 2019 to 2022. 2019 saw Rp. 1.77 billion in monthly payments but no insurance claims.

Additionally, the amount of premiums paid increased to IDR 22.73 billion in 2020 along with the growth in the number of BMN covered. Meanwhile, there were Rp. 540 million worth of claims filed that year.
